Swami Vivekananda liken Almora to Switzerland. Upon his return from Swiss, he wanted to build something in Almora for his guru, Shri Ramakrishna. The current ashram known as Bright End Corner or Kutir was built later by his disciples.
Bright End Corner is a popular spot situated around 2 kilometers away from Almora. The place offers views of sunset and sunrise behind the snow-peaked mountains. Since I had both views from my resort, I had not waited to take the view.
A famous focus is the Shri Ramakrishna Kutir Ashram. Many tourists visit the Ashram for meditation.
Other places located near Bright End Corner are Vivekananda Library and Vivekananda Memorial.
The Bright End Corner place is devoted to Swami Vivekanand, as it is believed that he had spent a few days meditating in the Himalayas but had not visited this spot as confirmed by the Trust managing this place.
This Bright End Corner place is built in 1918 in memory of him and his guru.
At Almora, you can view Trishul peal which is located in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand; height of Trisul I 7,120, Trisul II 6,690, Trisul III 6,007. The three peaks resemble a trident (Lord Shiva). The photograph is a view from my hotel balcony at Almora, Uttarakhand.
