Durga, an avatar of Parvati temple at Sarsai village is located at Naggar, Manali.
My driver brought me here to show their village deity. If not for my wonderful driver who is knowledgeable of the area, I would have missed this place that looks ancient.
The outside pillar near the Lion is where the original temple was constructed. Temple construction date is unknown.
This temple structure with beautiful carvings had similarity with Vashisth temple at Manali and Vishnu temple at Sajla that I posted earlier and you may find them in the related post and on my Knowledge Center.
In Picture 8, you may also view the spiral carvings that you would see on rock art and large fields which represents the cosmic axis or axis mundi. I posted a short summary and video about this topic on my Facebook page from my visit to Angkor Wat, Cambodia https://www.facebook.com/reel/828621978881556
The images carved on the outer wall of the Durga temple are guardians of this temple.
Leave a comment what do you think of this place. Would love to hear from you.

This was the original location of the Durga temple and later it was reconstructed where it is located now which you can view on other photos.
