Mahavishnu Temple at Sajla, Himachal Pradesh

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

MahaVishnu temple at Sajla, a small village on the Manali-Naggar road. It’s takes you through on an offbeat road on the mountain to reach the temple.

There is another stone temple just outside dedicated to Shiva and Parvati.

The carvings on the temple wooden structure is another marvellous work and one can only be at awe being here as well as taken away by the mountain view. Just breathtaking.

All the nature symbols such as star anise and motifs used by brands of this world such as herringbone and other prints on handbags, jewellery, scarfs, etc exist at this temple.

What is even more interesting is that some of the carvings resemble the Kutch Art of Indus Valley Civilisation.

I am working on another shorts/reel. Do come back for an update by becoming a member for free at this site or follow my Facebook page for latest updates. https://www.facebook.com/authoryash08?mibextid=LQQJ4d

As promised, please pause the video to view all the carvings of these two temples; Sajla and Tripura. Both temples are located near Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The carvings have resemblance to Kutch Art of Indus Valley Civilisation. I would recommend to read the "The Arts of Kutch" edited by Christopher W. London for a view of some of the amazing Arts of Kutch.
